1. Brief Introduction to the Activity

The Rugby section of the Chamonix Sports Club welcomes players of all levels in a spirit of friendship, respect and self-improvement.

Rooted in the core values of rugby, the section promotes the development of the sport throughout the Chamonix Valley, offering quality coaching for both children and adults.

Beyond sporting development, the Rugby section actively contributes to the life of the club and the local community by promoting:

  • team spirit;
  • collective commitment;
  • the educational values of sport.

It offers everyone the opportunity to improve, grow and share their passion for rugby in an exceptional setting at the foot of Mont Blanc.


2. Activity Details

2.1 Training Venue

Stade des Glaciers
Promenade Marie Paradis
74400 Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

In case of snow: venue to be confirmed, probably at the Richard Bozon Sports Centre.

2.2 Equipment

2.2.1 Equipment to Bring

Players should bring:

  • rugby boots / studs;
  • mouthguard;
  • match jersey;
  • water bottle.

2.2.2 Equipment Provided

The club provides, in particular:

  • rugby balls;
  • cones and training equipment;
  • shorts;
  • socks;
  • T-shirts.

2.3 Maximum Group Size

The following coach-to-player ratios apply:

  • Under 6 – Baby Rugby: approximately 1 coach for 6–8 children;
  • Under 8 and Under 10: approximately 1 coach for 8–10 children;
  • Under 12: approximately 1 coach for 10–12 children;
  • Rugby 5s: no maximum group size.

2.4 Coaching

All our coaches are qualified or currently undertaking training.

Volunteers or registered club members may also assist the coaches during training sessions.


3. Key Information at a Glance

The Rugby section offers training during the school year, outside school holiday periods, providing an opportunity to discover and develop rugby skills in a friendly atmosphere with experienced and supportive coaches.

If there is snow or the Stade des Glaciers pitch cannot be used, an indoor training session may be offered. The venue and schedule are yet to be confirmed.

4. Registration

Registration takes place mainly:

  • during the Sports Fair;
  • online via AssoConnect (link available upon request).

It is also possible to register after attending a trial session.

If you answer “YES” to at least one question in the health questionnaire, you must provide a medical certificate before the first training session.
