SKI MOUNTAINEERING

1. Brief Overview of the Activity

Move freely through the mountains in winter, with skis on your feet.

The section offers an introduction to ski mountaineering for younger participants, as well as training for those of all ages who wish to perform in competitions.

Group sessions are an excellent way to improve your ski mountaineering skills, combining technique, intensity and enjoyable moments together. Sessions are available from November to the end of March, for participants aged 11 and over.

The educational and technical approach used enables participants to make progress, gain confidence and become more independent.

2.1. Location

Chamonix Valley, depending on snow conditions.

2.2. Equipment

2.2.1. Equipment to be Provided

Ski mountaineering equipment: skis, bindings, ski boots, backpack, avalanche transceiver / shovel / probe, helmet, headlamp, climbing skins, poles, warm clothing, etc.

2.2.2. Equipment Provided

One pair of test skis is available for younger participants (please contact us in advance to check availability).

Mountain guides, sports coaches and volunteers.

The ski mountaineering section offers training sessions throughout the winter, providing an opportunity to discover and improve in a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere, with competent and supportive coaches!

4. Registration

Registration is carried out via Assoconnect.

A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE IS MANDATORY, confirming that the participant has no medical contraindication to practising ski mountaineering, including competition.
